Going to the dentist with a painful toothache…🦷

Imagine the situation, you walk into the dentist’s surgery with excruciating toothache that’s kept you awake all night…

As the masked dentist shines that light and peers into your mouth, he spots the problem straight away – it’s a decaying tooth that’s caused an abscess, hence the pain.

​

Then he says… “Have you considered replacing your front teeth with our new state-of-the-art, natural-looking, 3D-printed dental implants?“.

​

That’s the equivalent of you pitching your product or service to new email subscribers on your list – you’re trying to solve a pain that is, at that moment, irrelevant.

​

They’ve arrived there with a problem (their ‘toothache’) and they want help with that – not to be pitched by you on your latest program or service.

​

That behaviour is more likely to result in unsubscribes than in sales, in my experience.

​

Here’s the step-by-step process that works;

​

1. Offer a solution to your ideal subscriber’s main problem or challenge (lead magnet).
2. When they join your email list, help them fix the problem they showed up with.
3. Begin your relationship nurturing phase, regularly sending valuable email content.
4. Figure out what their follow-on problem/challenge is and offer them your paid solution that you know will help them deliver results.

One of the features I use is called a ‘bokeh’ (pronounced bo-kay) blur effect, you know the one that’s normally only possible with an expensive DSLR camera – you can add this to your background, just adding a subtlety that gives that little bit of a ‘pro’ look and feel to your video.

You can configure the image to suit your preferences, and then it appears as a virtual camera in other apps, like Zoom, Streamyard, or Ecamm Live.
