Email Marketing Tip

Always be growing your email list.

Without subscribers, you don’t have an email marketing system.

Even though you might feel like it’s a pain in the neck trying to attract the right subscribers to your list, you MUST implement strategies to make it a daily task, one that happens no matter what you’re doing.

Here’s the truth around subscriber numbers inside a typical email marketing system…

For every 100 subscribers you collect, you can expect…

  • 50-60 will regularly engage with your content
  • 10-20 will sporadically open your emails
  • 15 will never engage and eventually be tagged as ‘cold’ subscribers
  • 3-6 will unsubscribe from your list
  • 2-5 will buy from you

Obviously, these are very general numbers and each can dramatically go up or down depending on how effective your system is – for example, collecting the wrong people and your engagement will bomb.

If you’re not actively selling to them, you won’t get many customers.

Run a compelling sales campaign, selling a sought-after service and your sales will grow.

If you’re not adding value to their inboxes, you’ll increase the unsubscribe rates.

The one constant is you must always be adding good-fit subscribers at the front end… here are a few ways in which I do this;

  • Collect subscribers from social platforms (i.e. LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.).
  • Join Kit’s Creator Network and share others’ audiences.
  • Share content that will be found by search platforms (i.e. Google, YouTube).
  • Make it easy for others to share your content.
  • Make you and your content recommendable.

Keep growing. 📈

Kit Feature

Ever find yourself sending out a Zoom link, but would really love to be able to send a ‘Add to Calendar‘ link instead?

Now you can.

In Kit’s App Store, you’ll now find a handy little plugin called ‘Add-to-Calendar Buttons‘.

It’s free to use and does just what you’d imagine – provides a one-click link for your subscribers to add your event dates to their respective calendars.

Once installed, it’s easily selected from the in-editor drop-down menu; either click the little ‘+‘ icon or type ‘/‘ if you prefer keystrokes.

Once inserted into your email, you’ll find a long list of configurable settings in the right-hand contextual menu.

You can even change the colouring of the calendar buttons to be on brand with yours.

If you want to use it, head to the Kit App Store (under the ‘Automate‘ menu), and hit the ‘Install‘ button.

Tech Tip

I just started using Ecamm recently.

It’s a live streaming and video production software for Macs that lets you create professional-quality broadcasts, recordings, and virtual camera feeds with (relative) ease.

Despite being aware of the product for a number of years, I never took the plunge to use it – until, that is, I came across Neil Farrimond and Martin McKenna who, among other things, specialise in Ecamm Live.

When I saw the quality of what those guys produce, not just in their recorded video content, but their ‘livestreams’ too, I knew it was time to up my ‘video’ game! (Check out Neil’s and Martin’s videos using the links above☝️)

One thing I’ve noticed about Ecamm since I started using it, is the large network of people who specialise in its use. Whenever I hit a snag, a quick YouTube search and I can find a few (beautifully crafted!) videos to give me the info I need.

It’s now my goal to take that level of production and employ it in my business, including my YouTube channel.

If you want to give it a go, click the button below and start your free 14-day trial. I’m not affiliated, but do recommend it.

If you’re not a Mac user, you can use an alternative platform – for example, OBS, which is a free open-source option.
