Even I, as an avid email marketer, would never suggest that to be true.
Okay, it certainly helps with most common challenges, but it’s not a silver bullet for any business.
For me, email marketing sits in the middle of a 3-phase process that can deliver regular income when designed, built, and implemented properly.
Here are the 3 phases…
Phase 1: Get Attention
If nobody knows you or your business exists, your ‘world-class‘ products and services are a waste of time and effort.
You need to get attention – it’s the minimum requirement in today’s digital world. How you get attention is entirely up to you, but getting it isn’t optional.
Most people share their thoughts, opinions, and knowledge across the socials to get attention.

๐ก Tip: Be more consistent than prolific with your sharing.

Phase 2: Earn Trust
Once you’ve been found out there in the big wide world of socials, you need to earn people’s trust – they won’t simply hand it over on a platter.
Much like attention, trust can be garnered in many ways, but my recommendation is do it naturally – in other words, what feels right and comfortable to you. If you try to force it or fabricate it, people will see through it a mile away.

Phase 3: Convert Trust into Revenue
When you have established trust with your audience, ‘selling‘ doesn’t feel like selling. It becomes an activity of identifying what people need, at the right time, and offering them the most appropriate solutions for those needs.
This is the guiding question I use in my business whenever I’m crafting a product or service… “If I was in their shoes, what would the best option look like?“.
I then go build exactly that thing and present it to the right people.
๐ก Tip: Be selective with whom you offer what, and de-risk investments as much as you can for your customers.

This simple 3-step process isn’t intended to suggest it’s easy, but keeping things formulaic and structured encourages the repetition of consistent results.
As you probably guessed, everything to do with email marketing is pretty much contained in the middle phase of earning your subscribers’ trust.
